UI design patterns for successful software
Please explain what you would personally like to achieve by taking this course, and what role the other course participants can have in that. Aim to phrase your goals and the role of your peers concisely, by writing approximately a quarter of a page. And a tip: save your answer somewhere convenient for your own use as well, as we will be returning to your initial goals at the end of this course!
I would like to know various GOOD Cases for UI design patterns as well as WHY they are good. (The theories or philosophies behind them)
My inner motivation arises from the following 3 stories.
◆Started from UX research, expanding to UI
I started taking the IxDF course with User research methods and Design Thinking since I thought I could utilize my background working in the counseling / consulting industry which focuses on listening to the clients.
While learning those topics, I had a chance to talk with a company which is offering Web design and creating systems related to business administration, knowledge management, HR management etc. and found learning User Interface would be very useful.
◆Bridging / Interpreting between different cultures
Being Japanese native speaker and having some friends in IT industries from other countries (such as India and Syria) , I often heard that Japanese way of making the system / design is sometimes too complicated or old fashioned, though there are also good points.
By learning in IxDF, I can know good cases from other countries and also share beautiful points as well as weakness of Japanese ones.
◆Loving Art / drawings
Personally I love drawings and oil paintings. It is important to think about why I draw like this, what I would like to express in the work. This kind of “Artistic Thinking”, to consider the philosophy or concept while making design would be applicable for UI design, and it’s very fun!
I look forward to the learning journey in this UI design course.
