Reward and threat in 5stages of Design Thinking process
5stages of design thinking process:
Which stage or stages in the Design Thinking process do you think pose the
(1) most positive reward ?
(2)biggest threat ?
in achieving a cohesive and smooth-running design project and end result?
1) I think the stage of "Emphasize" has most reward. After trying to emphasize, how I define, ideate and prototype became very different.
I'm preparing a seminar for school teachers to understand the children living in Japan and having roots from foreign countries. By emphasizing teachers I imagine their worry/anxiety coming from lack of experience and also hope to embrace diversed cultural background.
Taking their anxiety into consideration, the seminar documents include more gentle words to take care of the teachers and more questions which enable them to review their own thoughts.
2) Prototyping stage would be challenging and critical stages in the Design Thinking process. In case putting too much time on prototyping, shifting to test stage would be a bit scary!
Quick shift to the test stage and keep iteration in mind seems very important.
