Joined as an observer to “Weekly Fun Radio” by Yamada-juku -It’s exactly Fun Radio because of the atmosphere of homemade...

1.Origin and Unique point of Yamada-juku and why they opened their branch in India?

-Originated in Japan 50YEARS BEFORE!!!

-Famous for their own unique way of English lesson called 60 lessons. (They have a patent!)

  The daughter of the founder also learned with that method… so curious.

-The daughter opened the branch in India mainly for Japanese children whose parents are dispatched to India from the HQ

  …. They met an Indian millionaire in the flight, recommended and supported by him to open the branch in India…. (!! @_@!!) What a drama!

2.What they do in India  (and Japan)..students are.. 3types

Students are…

1. Japanese children who studies in Japanese School (Nihonjin gakko) in India
2. Japanese children who studies in International Schools in India
3. Indian students who are interested in Japanese culture 

Many students came back to Japan due to Covid 9 and the Juku still continue supporting them ;)  I felt they are well connected as a community with passion for children and education!!

-Importance of reading loud (Ondoku)

-Sometimes mothers of children learning in India don't contribute for Ondoku… with the attitude of Juku should do everything…. :(( realy!?  Too much pressure ? having too Much pride/ego?

-Some students have difficulty in both Japanese and English… -> come back to where they can understand, regardless of their current grade in reality (..that is same as children with foreign roots in Japan…)

-The juku also support the children who don’t (can’t) want to go to school… nice ^^

-> they want to expand their support to other children too^^

-Juku staff members sometimes support their children and parents to translate the documents from school / help communication with the children, parents and the school teacher. Wow!!

-They also try to expand the radio to the children in the hospitals. great!!

-Founder of the Indian branch is the daughter of the founder in Japan

3.Weekly Fun Radio

-Due to Covid 19 they had to close the offline school  so they started.

-The parents of the students are also cooperating!!

-30mins radio program on zoom

-Before starting you can hear the nostalgic sounds of Japanese children's songs… Akatonbo, Donguri Korokoro… seasonal^^

-Drawing with songs (Ekaki uta ) & 3 quizzes!!

-Children answer the 3rd (final) quiz by drawing and their work will be displayed in the zoom in the following week^^ feeling of participation!!

-Quizz is popular in Japan but what about in other countries??

ex) What is the broken seasoning in the kitchen..? ->Pepper (Kosho in Japanese which also means broken in other chinese character )

4.Future　Collaboration

-There are still 2 staff members remaining in Indian branch, one is an Indian who have a great command of Japanese and the other is Japanese^^ wow, wanna meet them someday!

-Expand the radio staff with my teammates and on instagram^^
