Ajanta has 30 rock-cut Buddhist cave monuments (2nd century Before Christ to about 480 or 650 CE)
Not just caves, it's nice because of being surrounded by water falls and greens :)
I heard that Ajanta means no one knows.
Before being found by John Smith, a British officer for the Madras Presidency, in 1819, really no one knew Ajanta caves.
